As women age their breasts can droop and lose their shape. This can happen from age, giving birth, breastfeeding, and changes in weight. These changes can make a woman look older and make her clothes not fit as well as they once did.
Unshapely breasts, downward pointed nipples, and sagging can make women feel uncomfortable and insecure. This change in their figure can stop them from to wearing a bathing suit, tank top, or fitted outfits.
Confidence is the most appealing quality to others. It’s what draws us to want to strike up a conversation with someone. Misshapen breasts can occur for many reasons and it can leave women feeling insecure. One way to reinvigorate your confidence, feel more comfortable wearing most anything, and regaining a more youthful figure, is by creating a more shapely and raised breast. A breast lift, known as mastopexy, might be the right choice for you.
Dr. Suarez has done more than 140 breast lifts on average per year and he will make sure the right procedure that addresses your specific needs is done to you too
WHAT IS MASTOPEXY (BREAST LIFT)?
Mastopexy is a cosmetic surgery that helps to reshape, raise, and sculpt the breasts to create a more supple breast, as well as reposition the nipples. Breast lift does not change the size of the breasts. This procedure will promote a youthful figure by tightening the breast skin and soft tissue. Many women choose to have a breast lift in a combination with Breast Augmentation to lift, shape, and enlarge the size of the breasts, a Breast Reduction to lift, shape, and reduce the size of the breast, or a Laser Bra Lift which creates through laser an internal bra to protect the results of the breast lift. Dr. Suarez will discuss if lifting, augmenting, and/or reducing the size of the breast is right for you.
Not only does Dr. Suarez will be discussing with you your options but he will take the time to consult with you on your desired results as well. His main concern is your comfortability, and wants to make sure you understand the alternatives, as well.
If you think this is the right procedure for you, please schedule a consultation with the experts at OAS Plastic Surgery.

TYPES OF BREAST LIFT
Crescent Lift is designed for women who have minimal sagging and/or minimal asymmetry. The incision runs around the top half of the areola and leaves minimal scarring.
This type of breast lift will produce a more even and perky breast. The crescent lift can be done at the same time as breast augmentation.
The Donut Lift, known as the Peri-areolar lift, is meant for women who have minimal sagging or slightly asymmetrical breasts, and also want to reduce the size of their areola. The incision is circular along the entire areola, and leaves minimal scarring.
This type of breast lift will result in a more shapely and perky breast, as well as a smaller areola. The donut lift can be done at the same time as a breast augmentation.
Another form of breast lift is the procedure of the Lollipop Lift, or vertical lift. This type of breast lift is meant for women whose breast have a more significant droop and need more than a minimal lift. This procedure will start with a circular incision around the areola and run from the areola to the fold under the breast; creating a lollipop look.
This type of breast lift can shape the entire breast through the lift, and by removing excess skin. The lollipop lift will leave a slight scar running down the breast, but over time with proper care can become minimal.
The Anchor Lift, also called the Inverted-T lift, is meant for women who have a lot of excess skin and soft tissue. The procedure will start with a circular incision around the areola to the fold under the breast, and then continue along the fold.
This type of breast lift can produce the most dramatic results, by reshaping the breast, removing excess skin and soft tissue. The anchor lift will leave a slight scar running down the breast and under the fold, but over time with proper care can become minimal.
To get the full picture of what to expect, you should understand what the procedure entails. A breast lift surgical procedure can take from one to three hours, and depending on the type of breast lift either local or general anesthesia is used.
Dr. Suarez believes in a natural looking breast with minimal, if not at all noticeable scars. His extra fine incision around the areola, and if needed, on the breast, ensures that scarring is minimal. The incision will be closed with extra fine sutures. After surgery, Dr. Suarez will apply a dressing to protect the areas of incision.
Most patients are sent home the same day after surgery.
Dr. Suarez and his team work with you from consultation to procedure to recovery. You will always feel cared for at every stage (that is part of the Costa Rican way of treating patients, its innate in us). After a breast lift, Dr. Suarez encourages his patients to contact him with any concerns
The recovery process for a breast lift procedure will depend on the type of breast lift performed and how the patient responds to surgery, however, the general rule is that you will be able to return to work in two weeks. Dr. Suarez lays out an individualized and detailed recovery plan for each patient, and it should be followed as recommended for the speediest healing, and to minimize scarring.
With any medical procedure, you may be bruised and swollen around the area. You will want to limit your physical activity, not lift anything, and sleep on your back, as well as follow all of Dr. Suarez’s indications. Ice packs will help to reduce the swelling and bruising around the breasts. After any surgery, you’ll want to avoid aspirin and alcohol in the week after surgery. Aspirin and alcohol can thin your blood and increase bruising, in turn prolonging your recovery time. You will be scheduled an appointment anywhere from a few days to a week after your procedure. At this time, Dr. Suarez will discuss with you how you feel, check the breast area, and give you any additional instructions for your specific healing process.
The costs of a breast lift can vary based on what type of breast lift you need, and if you an augmentation or reduction is necessary to receive optimal results. Dr. Suarez’s consultation will provide costs for each procedure.
